Det blir inget fortsatt äventyr med Nyplings Mat & Vin på H10 sommaren 2018 utan nu flyttar vi till Furillen.
This summer we move to FURILLEN
Nyplings Mat & Vin are moving from H10, Visby to the secluded island of Furillen on the north east cost of Gotland. A former limestone quarry with factory and harbor that turned in to a center for the military is now a truly one of a kind design hotel that captures the mix of Gotlandic nature at its best with the unique industrial history of Furillen a creation by photographer and entrepreneur Johan Hellström.
What is Nyplings Mat & Vin and wo are you?
Nyplings Mat & Vin was my(Mikael Nypelius) pop-up restaurant in Visby douring 2016 and 2017. Now I will togheter with my ciderpartner Karl Sjöström take over the restaurant at Furillen instead. Nyplings Mat & Vin was a winebar and restaurant that served short tasting menus based on inspiration from my family farm Nyplings.
I(Mikael) am a sommelier born on Gotland that now import wine and make Swedish real cider together with my cider partner Karl Sjöström we are FRUKTSTEREO. We started making cider in 2016 and won the award for best cider in Sweden 2017 and I was also honoured with the award for "Sommelier of the year 2015" for my efforts at one stared restaurant Bhoga in Gothenburg. Karl is a long time sommelier with experince from topp restaurants in Sweden and Norway that have been involved with making wine at Hällåkra in Skåne for the past few years before the cider bug got him.
When will the restaurant at Furillen be open?
Between the 6th of July and the 16th of August on a day to day basis, the same as the hotel. The rest of June and August we are open only to private partys.
Whats the menu like?
Its a tasting menu that we change daily depending on what we find inspiration in from our vegtebale plot at Mikaels family farm Nyplings. This we match with other local produce like dairy products from Putersjause farm and meat from Ejmunds and lamb from Fårö.
Where will we eat and how much is it?
The menu will be at least seven servings(probably more) and will start at 18.30 each night in the old Limestone factory with a beautiful view of the Baltic sea and looking over to Gotland and if you are lucky a perfect sunset.
Prices are 750sek for the menu and 750sek for the optional wine pairing
Are children welcome and do you have a CHILDREN'S menu?
We welcome both big and small gourmets, but we will ask you to respect the tranquility many of our other guests seek when they come to dine and stay at Furillen. We do not have a specific children's menu, however we can do a main course with simpler flavors for our youngest guests to enjoy at the table, this can also be served in your room if you are a guest at the hotel.
Is the restaurant open only for hotel guests?
All are welcome! You can reserve a table for the complete dinner experience or come and have a glass of wine or cider in the bar if you'd like.
